Flamenco Flow Lab

Find your Flamenco Flow

Flamenco is an intricate, powerful and transformational art form that develops musicality, creativity and personal power.

This program combines mind/body awareness techniques with skill building in Flamenco dance and rhythm technique to cultivate a state of ease and flow.  We learn Flamenco as a language with special focus on understanding the music and developing our own musicality and sense of play.

The program begins with the HeartMind Lab to set the tone for practice and learning methods, as well as starting us on the right track with mindset and mindfulness practice as personal tools for growth on and off the dance floor.

Included in your tuition:

           1) Online Library of exercises in compás, body activation/awareness, and improvisation/creativity, as well as lessons in Flamenco Theory to deepen your understanding of the language of Flamenco.

           2) Online of Library of Footwork and Turns drills for Flamenco. This library will continue to grow throughout the program.

           3) Online Library of Yoga classes taught through the lens of the 7 Chakras in the Yoga system for you to practice at any time. These practices will help you work through any physical limitations and build strength, mobility and mental resilience for Flamenco.

           4) Unlimited discounted private classes with Amelia for personal guidance and coaching (only $75 instead of $100 for currently active subscribers!). If you prefer, we can split this into two 30 minute sessions.

MEET YOUR COACH

After a career as a professional Belly Dancer at a young age, Amelia fell in love with Flamenco under the tutelage of Encarnación La Paloma.  In 2009 she co-founded Oleaje Flamenco, and since then continues to study intensively under many beloved teachers, most notably Belen Maya, María Bermudez, Alfonso Losa and Concha Jareño.

She has performed with world class artists from Spain such as Antonio Rey, Jesus Montoya, Luis de La Tota, Jose del Faro and Israel Heredia as well as US talents such as Jed Miley, Stephanie Pedraza and Joaquin Gallegos in both choreographed and improvisational settings. Known for her musicality and expressive abandon, she believes Flamenco is a vehicle for personal truth and empowerment.

As a registered Yoga teacher (RYT-500, E-RYT 1000) and anatomy geek, she specializes in alignment and proper muscle activation for injury prevention and longevity in dance. She loves teaching her students how to be part of the living language of Flamenco, and how to create music in their dance with freedom and playfulness.

What people are saying...

"The Joyful Movement Medicine program was therapeutic, invigorating, exciting, interesting and fun.  Amelia Moore was able to personalize and tailor the classes to suit everyone's individual abilities and limitations. She is inspirational, knowledgeable, talented and extremely down to earth, and the most humble, patient, flexible, understanding, enthusiastic and light-hearted dance teacher in my almost 40 year history of learning dance.  Everyone passionate about learning dance would excel and accomplish all of their goals with Amelia as their instructor. No matter what anyone has going on in their lives, it is impossible not to love classes with Amelia."

- Amy Mehta, Joyful Movement Medicine graduate
